Motmot

Motmot had strong interest from more than 50 cities, but bringing a new hardware-based service to market meant building the commercial and field processes at the same time. The challenge was turning that interest and signal into projects the team could scope, schedule, and deliver.
Over three months, I worked with Elliot and the Motmot team to build-up that process. We developed a deployment plan for the first 10 cities, documented how the team would respond to nine common field and project issues, and helped shift pricing from a per-mile model to a per-day structure that better reflected how the contract work would be performed.
We also mapped Motmot’s three primary routes to market: working directly with utilities, partnering with engineering firms, and working through third-party inspection providers - and identified where the team was most likely to turn opportunities into signed contracts.
By the end of the engagement, Motmot had a clearer path from customer interest to a scoped, priced, and deliverable project, along with the internal tools needed to support its first wave of commercial deployments.
